Summary of Proposed Amendments for Feb 2010 Annual Meeting
At last year’s Annual Meeting we discussed some changes to the Constitution that were needed and indicated the Deacon Board would review and make recommendations with regard to these in the coming year.
The Deacon board has completed the review and proposes the following changes to the Constitution for Congregational approval. The congregation will learn more and vote on these proposed changes at the annual meeting on Sunday, February 28th at 4:00pm-5:30pm in the auditorium.
1. “ WHC” added to the “doing business as” sentence.
2. Elimination of the Endowment Committee and associated references
3. Replace Administrator as member of Nomination Committee with a Pastoral Staff Member appointed by Lead Pastor.
4. Allow for the process for the calling of Pastoral Staff Member (Pastor, Director, Ministry Leader) to an existing position to range from appointment to formal search as determined by Lead Pastor after consultation and approval by Board of Deacons.
5. The recommendation by the Lead Pastor for a new Pastoral Staff Position shall be considered for approval by the Finance Committee and Board of Deacons.
