The good news is that sex was God’s plan from the beginning! We can all agree that God has created us with a sexual part of our nature. Unfortunately, in this broken world, what God created for good often gets used for evil and can trap us in bad habits and bondage. Today these destructive things aren’t hard to identify around us – pornography, affairs, chat rooms, suggestive movies and music, and more. This destruction can be devastating not only personally, but to those around us as well – those that we love.
As students, parents, husbands, wives, and single adults we are bombarded with a variety of information. From a simple song on the radio to an innocent conversation in an internet chat room, do you ever wonder if the world around us gives us accurate information? Most would say “no”.
The practical facts and statistics show that those who follow Jesus Christ are impacted by these negative things almost as much as those who don’t know and follow Him. The world around us says, “Sex… what’s the big deal?”, but the more accurate statement would be “Sex… it is a big deal!”
Washington Heights is committed to helping families navigate through the tough cultural issues of our day. What are the “road blocks” to living out the good plan that God has for us?
Join us in February as we strive to bring awareness to the road blocks that keep us from God’s best. He has a plan to guide us through life, as well as offering the help and healing only He can bring! Resources will be available to help you and your family meet these challenges head on, eyes open and aware. We encourage fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, couples and singles to attend. These events are co-sponsored by the Men’s Ministry, High School Student Ministry and Women’s Ministries of Washington Heights Church.
