The Children’s Ministry staff enjoys partnering with families throughout the year by creating special events and service opportunities for children and their families. These events are designed hand in hand with the four core values of Washington Heights.
Bible Adventures Week (VBS) July 18-22, 2011
Bible Adventures Week is held during the summer and is a one week long Bible program designed to excite, equip, and engage children in the Word of God. Each day a different Bible lesson is taught with coinciding music, games, crafts, and snacks. Children will experience high energy worship and drama together, and then transition into age-appropriate groups where they will discover God and His Truth on a deeper, more-personal level. Every year the theme of Adventure Camp is different, but the message of Jesus Christ is consistently emphasized.
Awana Grand Prix
Each year Kidz Crossing hosts the Awana Grand Prix where clubbers and their families are encouraged to build a personalized car to race against fellow clubbers during an exciting and friendly night of competition. This special evening not only engages clubbers and their families in friendly competition, but builds community as each support one another throughout the night.
Family Fun Easter Dinner
Alternating years, Kidz Crossing hosts an Easter dinner for families to gather for worship, crafts, fellowship, and celebrate the resurrection of Christ. This special event is designed to bring families together for a memorable evening remembering and celebrating the sacrificial death and glorious resurrection of Jesus through music, activities, and a Bible message.
Family Fun Harvest Festival
Alternating years, Kidz Crossing celebrates the fun of fall by hosting a biblically themed Harvest Festival. This special event is full of excitement as families discover God and His Word through games, entertainment, and building community with one another.
Family Fun Swim Night
Every year Kidz Crossing families gather together for fun and fellowship at a local aquatic center, where children and parents are given the opportunity to build community together in a relaxed and casual environment.
